Comparing to other compensators like sleeve type compensator and spherical compensator, bellows compensator has advantages of small land occupation, easily installation, low cost, no structural leakage and no need of maintenance.

According to compensation type, there are axial bellows compensator, lateral bellows compensator and angular bellows compensator. Among which axial bellows compensator can be divided into general axial bellows compensator, unrestraint type bellows compensator, direct buried bellows compensator and pressure balanced type bellows compensator; lateral bellows compensator can be divided into single direction lateral bellows expansion joint, universal hinged lateral bellows expansion joint, large tie rods lateral bellows expansion joint and small tie rods lateral bellows expansion joint; angular bellows compensator can be divided into single angular and universal type angular bellows expansion joint. All of them obtained following performances:

1. Pressure resistant. Bellows expansion joint mainly used in pressure pipeline, it requires to bear the max design pressure in pipeline, thus bellows expansion joints manufacturer usually produce the bellows by different specification.

2. Compensation amount. According to different compensator type, there are axial compensation amount, lateral compensation amount, angular compensation amount and recombination compensation amount. Temperature is the most important factor.

3. Temperature resistance. Bellows expansion joints mainly used in heating pipeline system, its temperature ranges from -196℃ to 1000℃, sometimes even higher.

4. Fatigue life. If bellows expansion joint used in heating pipeline, it must have one compensation circulation every year. Please try to avoid larger temperature change.
