Based on fluid mechanic knowledge, in pressure pipeline, when water flow in the pipeline, sudden close or open of the pipe valve will cause sharply change of the water flow velocity, thus, water inertia effect must make pipeline water pressure go up or do down, along with voice of water hammering, that is so called “water hammer”.

2. Stainless steel metal flexible hose at the downstream of valve. When suddenly close the valve, downstream water will go on flow forward and has partial vacuum because of inertia, which makes pipeline water pressure sharply fall. Since metal bellows is the main body of a metal flexible hose, it has good elasticity and bellows wall is thin(generally is 0.15-0.5nlln), thus the metal bellows will shrink; when suddenly open the valve, water pressure sharply raised, the metal flexible hose will expansion. With continuously close and open of the valve, the water pressure inside the metal flexible hose will also change periodically, its water pressure pulsation rate is correspond to metal flexible hose’s expansion and shrinkage rate.
